WEDNESDAY 20TH OCTOBER - Day 3

First job was to lay a timber floating floor over the VIPs. We glued the tounge and grooves and applied mastic around the perimeters to give a ‘belt and braces’ approach to the sealing of the floor for the air pressure test.

Materials to arrive on site today are Lawtech’s Insulation and Render, our Kitchen and the Long delayed Solar Heat Gain? Annote; The Heat Gain did get to our Head Office 1^st thing (atlast!) in the morning and was then loaded onto our Company vehicle by one of our Supervisors and taken to site.

Additional work required in installing a 18mm floor over the Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIPS)

Alterations to the existing heating system commence to receive the new SHB and new flow and return drop pipes installed for the skirting heating Systems.

With the Installers of the Insulation on site they unloaded their materials today.

After a very long wait by Sheer frame our preferred installers and after completion of 1st floor Mercury Windows started to fit the Ground Floor windows to No.13 only.

Base rack for the insulation and render being manufactured to fit around the porch and ramp by Lawtech.

Due to the quantity and the limited time that the insulation would be stores it was agreed to stack the insulation neatly in our secure compound on the grass.

The neat detail required to get around and over the ramps & kerb.

The base track drilled and fixed to No.14 Hawthorn.

Due to the late delivery of the Solar Heat Gain, the tight programme and the Solar PV which was already installed by BBCL, we had to have the scaffold platform carefully erected over the PV. This was undertaken by strict Supervision by Daniel Ready our PM.

The delivery lorry for the insulation material and render accessed the tight parking area and compound under Matthew Ball MD of BBCL acting as Banks man. Unfortunately the driver didn’t heed MB’s warnings and decided to attempt his exit without a Banks man and managed to get stuck on a small strip of grass next to the fence of No. 14 hawthorn.

Once it was apparent the driver required help BBCL operatives put wood under his tyres but unfortunately the driver spun and slipped even more off the driveway and actually ended up on the corner concrete post. MB & BBCL operatives wanted to ensure that the driver didn’t cause any major damage to his lorry body and lights so a decision was made to cut the posts down and remove the chain link fence.

With careful cutting and a hammer or two we manage to free ‘Willy’ from the fence.

Once the lorry had escaped the trepid escapade, BBCL operatives were over to site with 2 No replacement posts, which were immediately dug in and concreted. Minimal damage was undertaken to the grass verge and it was decided by MB to leave the reinstatement once all deliveries had been completed.
