After over a year of failed promises from the UK supplier and the system actually taking the hot
water out from the hot water cylinder outside to the panels on the roof (just as a refrigerator
normally works), the Council have decommissioned the system and removed it.
It hasn't worked as it was first sold to CEN and has cost lots of wasted
time for us and the Council and lots of wasted energy and money as it just doesn’t work
here in the UK.
The main problem which we noted at the start of the troubles is that the system
is designed for warmer climates and MUST have a heat back up, not what CEN were
told by the UK Supplier.
The Council have now opted for a Heat Pump system.
The TSB launched an initiative to Retrofit UK social housing stock in order to meet future targets in reduction of CO2 emissions and energy use. The competition 'Retrofit for the future’, looked for at least 50 demonstrator whole house solutions to improve the performance of the entire property with a goal to make deep cuts in carbon emissions. B Ball Contractors Ltd worked with CEN and Ashford Borough Council in winning the competition and to a successful conclusion.
